Portal payouts compared: thresholds, methods, timing and shares
Published payout thresholds, payment methods, timing and revenue share wording for eight HTML5 game options, with conflicts between sources shown as conflicts.
This page lines up what each of the eight options on this site publishes about getting paid, as of 2026-10-01. Where two official sources from the same portal disagree, both are shown. Nothing here says which option earns more: none of them publishes earnings per player or typical payouts, and their revenue share percentages are taken from different bases. For deal terms that affect where you can publish, see portal exclusivity terms compared.

CrazyGames
Payouts run monthly through Tipalti. Balances below €100 roll over, and you can hold payments (payouts). Payment onboarding must be finished before you can submit a game (payouts FAQ). Compensation applies only to Full Launch games that meet the conditions in Terms 5.3 (Basic Launch vs Full Launch).
Timing conflict. The payouts page says CrazyGames works on NET 60 terms but aims to pay sooner, typically by the 10th of the following month. Terms 5.6 say amounts are due 30 days after the invoice date (Terms PDF). The two figures are not reconciled in either source. The FAQ mentions only wire transfer and PayPal (FAQ), a shorter list than the payouts page.
Poki
Poki pays by wire transfer or PayPal in your preferred currency. Billing details are set after release and lock during each payment cycle (payouts and billing). The revenue model for web-exclusive deals is 100% of revenue from players who reach the game directly and a 50/50 split for players Poki brings (working with Poki). Poki calls these specifics indicative; your agreement sets them. Non-exclusive deals get a one-time flat licence fee with no revenue share (deal types). No minimum amount or schedule is published.
GameDistribution
The developer share is 33% of Net Revenue (Terms 3.1). Net revenue from in-game ads is defined as gross ad revenue minus ad and hosting costs and invalid-traffic deductions (developer terms).
Threshold conflict. The payment FAQ sets the invoice threshold at €50 for PayPal and €100 for bank transfer. Terms 3.3 set one threshold of €100 (developer terms).
Timing. The FAQ says the invoice for a month is created in the first week of the next month and paid before the close of the month after (May revenue, paid by end of July). A second FAQ entry says paid “at the close” of that month (payments FAQ). Terms 3.3 say payment within 60 days after the monthly report becomes available.
GameMonetize
The FAQ states a 45% share for developers and 45% for publishers, so a developer who also runs the publishing site gets 90%. The minimum is $30 for PayPal and the same for USDT (ERC20); smaller balances carry forward. The FAQ calls this Net30 and says money is sent within 25 days of the previous month (FAQ). No developer terms defining the revenue base were found.
Y8
Developers get 50% of eligible in-game ad revenue. Under the Y8 Managed Partnership (YMP), Y8 runs the ads and pays you: $100 minimum for PayPal, $500 for bank transfer, balances carried forward, a valid invoice required, and payment normally within 10 business days of accepting it. Under AdSense for Platforms (AFP), open only to developers Y8 deems eligible, Google pays you directly (developer FAQ). Y8’s page does not state AdSense thresholds for AFP.
itch.io
itch.io is a store, not an ad network. You choose itch.io’s share of each sale from 0% to 100% (default 10%), and processor fees are deducted separately (payments). HTML5 games take payments only as donations; selling access needs the project kind set to Downloadable (HTML5 docs).
In “Collected by itch.io” mode you request payouts: at least $5 available, a completed tax interview, a payout method, revenue released 7 days after purchase, at most 3 payouts in progress, and a staff review of at least 7 days that typically ends within 10 to 14 (payouts). In “Direct to you” mode each payment goes to your own PayPal or Stripe account (payment modes).
YouTube Playables
YouTube runs pre-roll ads itself, and interstitial and rewarded ads go through the SDK. Revenue sharing is a pilot with a select number of creators, to be aligned with broader YouTube monetization programs over time (monetization guide). No rate, threshold, method or schedule is published.
Google H5 Games Ads
Earnings are paid as regular AdSense payments, to whoever hosts the game and its tag (payments). AdSense thresholds are set per payments account and currency; in US dollars the payment threshold is $100, with $0 identity and $10 address verification (thresholds). Google publishes an 80% share for AdSense for Content after the advertiser platform’s fee, says it does not disclose shares for all products, and shows each active product’s share in the account settings (revenue share). The share for H5 Games Ads is not published.
How to use this
- Read the share wording, not just the number: “of Net Revenue”, “of eligible ad revenue” and “per user source” are different bases.
- Where sources conflict, plan around the less favourable reading until the portal confirms the other in writing.
- Finish payment setup early: CrazyGames blocks submission without it, Poki locks billing details for each payment cycle, and GameDistribution applies changes only to invoices not yet created (GD settings FAQ).
- Check method availability for your country; CrazyGames says it varies.
What is not published
None of these sources publishes typical earnings, eCPM, revenue per thousand plays or example payouts, so this page gives none and makes no recommendation on which pays more. Poki publishes no threshold or schedule; YouTube Playables publishes nothing on payouts; the H5 Games Ads share is undisclosed. The CrazyGames timing and GameDistribution threshold conflicts above are published as-is by those portals.
Questions
- Which portal pays the most?
- None of these sources publishes earnings per player, eCPM figures or typical payouts, so this page cannot answer that. The revenue share wordings also apply to different bases, so the percentages do not compare directly.
- What is the CrazyGames payout threshold and timing?
- The threshold is €100 in both the payouts page and the terms. Timing differs: the payouts page states NET 60 terms with payment typically by the 10th of the following month, while Terms 5.6 say amounts are due 30 days after the invoice.
- Is GameDistribution's minimum payout €50 or €100?
- Its FAQ gives €50 for PayPal and €100 for bank transfer. Its developer terms (3.3) give €100 with no method distinction. The two published sources disagree.
