Sizes the tool exports
From each portal’s published requirements, checked 2026-10-01. Follow the link before relying on a size.
| Portal | Sizes | Format | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| CrazyGames | 1920×1080, 800×1200, 800×800 | not published | Three mandatory covers with consistent visuals. Preview videos are also required (not handled by this tool). |
| Poki | 628×628 (minimum) | not published | Full-bleed square of at least 628×628; Poki applies rounded corners itself. An animated thumbnail (video) is required before global release (not handled by this tool). |
| GameDistribution | 512×512, 512×384, 200×120, 1280×720 (optional), 1280×550 (optional) | JPEG | Upload thumbnails as JPG. Three sizes are mandatory; two banner sizes are encouraged. |
| GameMonetize | 512×384 | not published | A default image of 512×384 is listed with the upload fields. |
| itch.io | 630×500 | not published | Cover images should keep a 315:250 aspect ratio; 315×250 is the minimum and a larger image such as 630×500 is suggested. |
| Y8 | not published | not published | Game image sizes are only shown inside the logged-in Developer Portal. |
| YouTube Playables | not published | not published | Thumbnails in several aspect ratios are required; exact sizes are only shown inside the Developer Portal. |
One image, every size
Each portal asks for its own set of cover images. CrazyGames wants three covers in different aspect ratios, GameDistribution three mandatory JPG thumbnails plus two optional banners, Poki a full-bleed square, itch.io a 315:250 cover, GameMonetize a default image. Making them by hand means one crop per size and per portal, repeated every time the key art changes.
This tool takes one image and produces all of them. Choose a focal point by clicking the image, check the previews, and download each file or a zip with everything. The sizes come from each portal’s published requirements, listed with links in the table on this page.
How it works
The image is decoded by your browser and drawn onto canvases at each output size. Two layouts are available:
- Crop to fill cuts the largest area with the target’s aspect ratio out of your image, centred on the focal point as far as the edges allow. Use it for full-bleed covers, which is what Poki asks for.
- Fit whole image scales the whole image into the target and fills the rest with a background colour you pick. Use it when a logo must not be cut.
Files are created with the canvas toBlob() method. Where a portal publishes a format, the tool uses it (GameDistribution asks for JPG); otherwise you choose PNG or JPEG. File names follow one pattern, name-portal-WIDTHxHEIGHT.ext, so a folder of exports stays readable.
When the source area for a size is smaller than the output, the preview says how much it is upscaled. Upscaled covers look soft at large sizes, so use the biggest original you have, ideally at least as large as CrazyGames’ 1920×1080 landscape cover.
What it does not do
- It does not judge the design. Portals publish advice on legibility, logos and contrast; read the thumbnails and metadata guide and each portal’s page.
- It does not create videos. CrazyGames’ preview videos and Poki’s animated thumbnail have their own requirements.
- It does not cover Y8 and YouTube Playables, which show their image sizes only inside their logged-in developer portals.
- It does not know about changes after the date shown in the table. Follow the links before you rely on a size.
Privacy
Everything happens in this tab. Closing the page discards the image and the exports you did not download.
Questions
- Is my image uploaded?
- No. The image is decoded and drawn on canvases inside this page, and the files are created by your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Why does a size say it is upscaled?
- The part of your image used for that size is smaller than the output. The tool still exports it, but the result will be soft. Start from a larger source, at least as large as the biggest size you need.
- Does it make Poki's animated thumbnail or CrazyGames' preview videos?
- No. Those are videos with their own specifications. The tool only exports still images; see the thumbnails and metadata guide for the video requirements.
